A Moonlighters Novel of Suspense by Terri Blackstock
Review: Juliet Cole's life came to an abrupt standstill the night she watched as Bob, her husband of fifteen years, was murdered. Bob was everything to her, the love of her life. Now he is gone and she knows of no reason why anyone would want to kill a respected surgeon, a Sunday school teacher, and a pillar of their church. He was a good honest man. All she saw on that dark night in the lot of a U-Haul center was a white Camaro speeding away. Little did she imagine at that moment that her life, as well as those of her sons was also in danger, in Distortion, the second novel of suspense in the "Moonlighters" series by Terri Blackstock.
Juliet asks her friend Michael and her two sisters Cathy and Holly, who work for Michael, to help her restart her life. But they quickly learn that Bob was not the person Juliet thought him to be. There was evidence he was involved in drug trafficking and that he had a fortune in cash in various banks. He owned two homes unknown to Juliet, in one of which lived his mistress and son. Everything that Juliet held dear came crashing down around her. Michael quickly enlists the assistance of his brother, Max, a police officer, to help, who then gets the FBI involved.
But Juliet's world is about to get rocked again. Someone calls demanding $50 million that Bob had in his safe, a safe Juliet knows nothing about. This person also wants the numbers for all off-shore accounts, or she could be burying more of her family members, including her two sons Abe and Zach. Where could she possibly get this information to protect her family?
Distortion is a thrilling, suspense-filled story with a cast of very strong, appealing characters, who work together, friends and family, in a time of crisis. The well-crafted plot will draw readers in and keep them guessing as to how it will all turn out. This intense, exceptional novel is highly recommended.
